It is recommended and stated on many medical and government sites that with these conditions that you find a way to prevent yourself from assuming the (on the back) supine position.
The standard treatment for Snoring and Sleep Apnea is usually CPAP, Oral Device, Surgery and Weight loss. Positioning is on occasion used as a first line treatment for mild—moderate apnea but normally it is used as an adjunct (supplemental).
